[hey look! there's a muk! archie's crouching near it, though given that this image is from archie's POV, james might not immediately know it's him. he puts his hands on the muk.]

[And then, maybe a little over-enthusiastically, sets it ablaze in his mouth.]

[in the mail, james gets a team aqua bandana and a note saying "join team aqua, for the good of your pokémon." the same kind of propaganda he probably saw in hoenn when he was following the twerp and his twerpettes around.

there's something written on the back:] you're a better trainer than you think you are. they're lucky to have you.
